Fatima Yamaha is Back
One of the first things we did when we started Magnetron, was to join forces with D1, a label in Ireland. Together we released the first Fatima Yamaha EP, A Girl Between Two Worlds. After eight years Fatima Yamaha resurfaces to pick up where she left off. Inspired by the cultural joys and hardships of growing up ‘between two worlds’ with a Japanese father and a Turkish mother, she supplies us with 3 more tracks of pure electronic funk. We are combining these new tracks with the previous four from her now legendary ‘Between Worlds’ EP, and we are giving them away as a free mini album download!
The new tracks include a rework of the infectious cult classic ‘What’s a girl to do?’ To mark the release D1 made a new video for ‘What’s a girl to do?’ The video for the track is shaped from the ‘The End Of The Earth Is My Home’, a new low-fi, concept driven, vfx sci-fi film - a fusion of Stoker’s Dracula and the Asian stories of the Monkey King.
